Purpose: Create compelling vision of the future.
Process: group discussion that requires large piece of brown or white paper (about 3×6 ft), magazines, or clip art.
1) Visualize — Ask participants to imagine what the future could look like if the project were successful.
2) Collect input — Invite them to use text, metaphors, drawings, clip art/ magazine clips (if available), or other media to represent what they see in their mind.
3) Discuss — Facilitate group as they process their input. Ask for additional details, clarify, and otherwise help the group put more ‘color’ on the picture.
4) Synthesize — Review with the group and summarize what the end game is.
Product: Visual or text collage of future state.
